Skincare gets loud, and the ingredient lists read like fine print. This is our plain-language guide to what's in a Valeia ritual — and the terms worth knowing — explained honestly, without the hype.
Ingredient
GHK-Cu is a small, naturally occurring copper peptide — a chain of three amino acids bound to a copper ion. It occurs in the body and has a soft blue-green hue, which is where the serum gets its subtle color.
In skincare, it's included for its role in supporting the skin's natural collagen and repair processes, and it's the ingredient the Southern Coast Serum is built around. As with any ingredient, individual results vary.
Ingredient
Hyaluronic acid is a humectant — a molecule that attracts and holds water. It occurs naturally in skin, and in a formula it's included to help hydrate the skin's surface.
"Multi-weight" means hyaluronic acid at several molecular sizes rather than one. The idea is to hydrate across different layers of the skin's surface rather than sitting in a single layer — which is part of why the serum feels weightless going on and cushioned once it settles.
Ingredient
A restrained blend of plant extracts, chosen to complement the formula rather than crowd it. We call them "shoreline-inspired" because they reflect the coastal character of the brand — not because they're literally harvested from the coast.
They're included for how the formula feels: light, calm, and clean, with a mineral freshness reminiscent of morning air near the water.
Technique
A derma roller is a handheld tool lined with very fine needles. The Gold Derma Roller uses a 0.25 mm needle length — a gentle, at-home depth designed for frequent, comfortable use, very different from the deeper professional treatments performed by dermatologists.
Used gently as the first step of a routine, it's a calm, deliberate ritual rather than an aggressive one. Keep it clean, use light pressure, and skip broken or irritated skin. If you have a skin condition, check with a professional first.
Concept
